Teen Bible Study update

Teen Bible Study update:

God be praised for his grace and blessings!
We are happy to announce that we had 8 teens at our first Bible Study tonight and we had a great time.

We thank the parents and those who brought these young people to our class and allowed them to study God's word.

Thanks to the following students:

Richiana Houston
Jasmine Houston
Leah Favors
Ashley
Miguel Chambers
Kye Jackson
Marvin Golden
Brandon Watson

Tonight we briefly summarized the meaning of the 'Books of Law' and studied the important events, and characters and lessons of the book of Genesis as we begin our survey of the Old Testament.

Please keep these children in your prayers that God will continue to bless them and build a desire in them to read and study His word and to grow closer in their relationship with Him so they can have strength and guidance in their young Christian walk.

And keep this Teen Bible Study program in prayer as we hope to be successful in training our youth on the right path in which they should go.

God bless!!

Teen Bible Study to begin Thursday

Teen Bible Study

II Timothy 3:16-17 says:

"All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work."

Thursday 8/5/10 begins a new effort to edify the local Body of Christ with weekly, foundational teaching to our teens. In addition to Sunday School and Sunday morning worship, New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church will offer Bible Study to ages 13-17 in the 'Memory Room'. Rev. Tony Favors is grateful for this opportunity to share with our young people.

"We have been trying to organize this program for the last three years and we are grateful to have this opportunity to finally get it off the ground" , Rev. Favors said after Vacation Bible School last Friday.

Please bring your teen to Bible Study this Thursday at 7pm at the church. While you're there, stay for Prayer service.

God bless.

Honor your father and mother

Exodus 20:12
“Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you.”

Ever been told by your parent or by somebody that saw you acting up, that disobeying your parents could cause you to not live very long? Yep, me too.
This one of the 10 Commandments explains that we are to love and respect and obey our parents. Yes, it says obey (See Ephesians 6: 1-3). Even though we may not agree, our duty is to obey them anyway. Be obedient to God’s word, let God deal with the rest.

Have you ever purposely disobeyed your parents? The bible says even when we disobey, we should repent and go back and be obedient.
